Re-upholstering Cushions
Yahoo Message Number: 136184
I am re-upholstering the twin bed cushions in my 2002 MB26.5 LD.  I would like to remove the panels at the base of the beds to re- upholster them.  The panel at the base of the beds appear to be attached to the sliding bed frame that the cushions rest on by 4 screws.  Removing the panel from the frame appears to require removing the approximately 4 screws going through the top of the frame and into the panel and breaking the glued fabric free of the frame.  Is there anything I should be aware of before I start this process?

Your help most appreciated.

Dave

Hi Dave, it will be easier to leave the old fabric in place a cover it, turn the new fabric upside down. start at the top center and staple the edge of the fabric to the front top edge of the base.  Fold the new fabric over the Staples let it drape over the front concealing the new staples, start pulling the new fabric tight at the center wrap around to the back side and staple to the back. keep working out to the ends wrapping and stapling to the backside of the padded base.
