Update on shower leak
Yahoo Message Number: 136073
I found the leak.  One of the delivery hoses behind the shower has cracked.  There is little to no space to work on it.  Thanks to Alex, I took the driver's side couch out and found the access panel and then the leak.  HOW does one get in there to change hoses short of taking out the entire shower?

First, what type is the tubing? Is it grey (polybutylene) with grey plastic flare fittings, or white (PEX) with crimp-on fittings. If the latter, you can simply disconnect both ends of the run and replace it with a new length of PEX and fittings. Or, you can cut the run at convenient access points and use splices to attach the repair length.

You might want to read through this thread. I had a similar issue, and developed a small list of options. Note that Steve and a few others were a big help in providing critical background information:

Not to jump the gun, but you're going to probably want to just re-route the entire shower line. Take a look at the list above, because one of the things I considered was how to splice in a new line.

Thanks to all of you who have helped on this project.  The leak is now fixed!  Had to take out the toilet to get to the supply line behind the shower.  Ended up having to replace about 4 feet of line.  While I was at it I ripped out all of the OLD carpet in the bathroom as well as the kitchen area and put down phony hardwood in the kitchen (Costco cheap stuff) and peel and stick "tile" in the bathroom.  Looks tons better.  Now to pull out the windows and reseal them.  UCK!  It's an '88 and I doubt they have ever been resealed.
