Installing a digital TV converter

We have a 2006 26.5 RB with entertainment center.  And, we have a Winegard satellite dish.   The original analog TV has such a great picture that we have not considered replacing it with a new digital model.
 Up til now, we have not be motivated to install a digital TV converter box.   Up til now.   Earlier this Fall, we ran into a situation where satellite was difficult and the local cable provider (for the RV park we visited) has gone digital.  A glimpse of the future?  Perhaps.
 So, now we are interested in installing a digital converter box.   My question is - has anyone installed one in a RB/entertainment center model?  Instructions?   Photos?     It appears that it will be a very tight installation.   We would like to accomplish this task with a minimum of damaged fingers and muttering.

Suggestions, instructions, and/or photos will be much appreciated!

For my money, I would replace the TV.  Converters are notoriously flaky, and they present another box that has to messed with.  I had one of the Winegard converters that did a half respectable job. But after a year I threw it

I also suggest you consider a new TV; however, if you Google "how to install a digital TV converter in an RV" you will find a wealth of info on how to connect one.

I agree with the others who said "Replace the TV".  I had a Dish DTV Pal which was supposed to be one of the best converters and gave up on it and now have a Vizio flat screen installed.  Another one of "Scarry Barry's" little follies to make our lives more difficult!

 Glen, besides politicizing a simple statement, your facts are wrong. Most of the discussion and development of the transition from analog to digital TV took place in the 1990s and early 2000s under the Clinton and Bush administrations. Under the Digital Transition and Public Safety Act of 2005, Congress authorized the end of analog broadcasting to be effective after February 17, 2009. In January 2009, the Obama-Biden transition team wrote a letter to Congress requesting a delay in the analog switch off until June. The letter explained that this was necessary because of problems with the converter-box coupon program and insufficient support for low income, rural, and elderly Americans. In January 2009, Jay Rockefeller introduced the DTV Delay Act of 2009 in the Senate. A new version of the bill passed later in January 2009 and then on February 4, 2009, the House approved the bill and the analog switch off was delayed until June 2009. By delaying the transition from February to June of 2009 the Obama administration helped to avoid major disruptions to the daily lives of citizens. This was hardly a "folly". It also became illegal to SELL a non-digital TV in February 2007.  Long before "scary barry" arrived on the scene.   If you want to be annoyed, it should be with LD.  I know I was perturbed picking up a brand new RV from the factory six months before the TV was obsolete.
