Removing/installing window screens without breaking the small black

I have given up long ago trying to clean these window screens because I've broken the clips holding them every time I've removed the screens, or while installing them.
 Can someone tell me the correct way to do this process (removing the window screen)?       As careful as I am, I can't get the hang of it.

In Arby, the clips are attached to the top edge of the screen a few inches from each end. I'll have to look tomorrow and take a pic for you.
