New Composite Plank Floor April 10, 2012, 01:03:21 pm Yahoo Message Number: 129763It was time to replace the flooring in my '02 MB. We decided to use Pergo-like planks. We used a product called Allure from Home Depot mainly because Elizabeth liked their color. Early on, it was apparent that I could not do the installation myself and got a referral from Tim Pease for a flooring contractor (licensed)who is based in Vacaville, CA. I did the "grunt" work of removing all of the old carpeting and vinyl including the bathroom and removing all of the staples. (not too difficult) For ease of installation of the new floor, I also removed the couch and dinette sliders. These have a backing that has to be removed that keeps them from lifting out of the slider groove. (stapled and screwed) I also removed my Andy Baird Pantry to clear the floor. I live in Sacramento area and took the rig to Vacaville to leave with the flooring guy. Took about a day and a half. I was stunned at the results. It is beautiful. Great installation and detail work on 1/4 round floor molding. Email me direct if you have an interest in this contractor and I will give you his name and contact. I can send pictures if you like. If you are near Sacramento and want to look at mine, let me know.
