Hello All,

I would like to mount a 17' antenna to my LD 26.5 MB.

Any thoughts.  Ladder not vertical enough to make it easy.

Your comments most appreciated.

Talk to Larry Wade. He just mounted a telescoping 16' pole on my ladder (could have been taller, but we cut it down) topped with a high-gain cell antenna. The base of the pole is bolted to a cup on the rear bumper, and the pole is secured vertically to the left side of the ladder, using adapters that Larry made. He can tell you the details; I'll try to post photos when I get a chance.

(17 foot)That is a BIG antenna to mount on any RV. I mounted a High Seirra Screwdriver antenna on the rear bumper of my 31' LD but don't have photo's.

He couldn't drive with that antenna.  At least not where there were any over-passes.  It could only be used while stationary.  In that case, the height really doesn't matter.  Lots of folks are using 30-foot and higher antennas with their RV's.

When Andy post the photos, I will explain the simple way the telescoping pole is attached to the ladder and bumper.
It isn't rocket science.

Hello to All Who Responded to My Request For Comments,
I did receive a 17' antenna from ZeroFive Antennas, 20 meter 1/4 wave vertical.
It was designed to accept a 1 1/4" to 1 5/8" mast insert.  Went to Home Depot, of course, and purchased 2 72" x 1 1/4" aluminum poles used for floating concrete and 2 strips of Velcro.  The 2 poles were combined into 1 12' mast, one end sliding into the other end of a pole,  which was then inserted into the receiving end of the antenna.  Antenna and mast raised to a vertical position beside the ladder.  Velcro was used to fasten at the top and bottom most positions available.  Also placed a block of wood under mast so as to not scratch bumper.  This will be tested in 25 mph winds in the next 2 days in the Imperial Valley near Yuma, AZ.
Again thanks to all who responded to my query with those suggestions.
