Found a nice campground in Newport News VA

For my wife's first outing in the still un-named MidBath we visited our daughter who goes to college in Newport News VA.  We stayed at the Newport News Park.  The city purchased the land around an existing dam to provide a water source.  The area is rich in history.  York Town, Williamsburg, and Jamestown are all close by. One of the Civil War's peninsula campaign's first battles was fought at the campground.  Also there are shops and other things.
 After going to a NE LD club event this would not be a place to hold such an event (no covered meeting place) but because of the near by attractions might be a good stop on the way to or from the area.
 The camp has 30 amp electrical and water at each site.  The area is well wooded with sandy soil.  Campfires were allowed from 4pm to midnight (1600 - 2359 local). The heated restrooms and showers were nice as I did not want to de-winterize the rig.  There was a berm right behind my camp dug some 150 years ago by few Johnny Rebs while Yanks from Vermont  camped talked strategy on the other side of the creek.  Dogs are allowed off leash in camp but otherwise must be on leash.  It looks to be a good spot for birding and photography of birds, but the purpose of this trip was to see the youngun so I have no photos to show.

Gina loved it!!! On the ride home the weather was falling slush.  Gina called from the MINI (she had to work, and followed me the next day
