Shopping for replacement battery monitor...so far, have the Linklite and LinkPro and the Tri-Metric 2025-RV pulled up. The pricing sure varies, with the Tri-Metric at the low end for $159 from Am Solar...the other two run much higher...$227 all the way up to over $300.
My question is, as a woeful beginner when it comes to elec. do I need the higher end monitor or are they more bells and whistles that a more astute user wants? I've had the Link sys 10 up til now and it was just fine for my use.
Also, any recommendations for who I might go to for installation here in Glendale/Phoenix area? Already called up the dealers in Quartzite, but they are out of units right now and don't want to do the install til after the meet up there ends...was hoping to get CHERRYOTTE back tomorrow from Orangewood RV where she's getting her basics done and head up that way to hang with the other LDers.

Since the rig is already set up for the old unit, was hoping switching it out for a new one would be relatively easy...maybe even easy enough for me to do?? I guess the calibration part would have to be done by someone more qualified..?

Go private if you have advice if it is too much for the forum?

Gini, I used D&R's Family RV in Glendale (6344 W Orangewood) to install the solar panels I bought from Andy some years back.  They did a good job.  Even spent the night there - felt safe behind the fence in an industrial area-altho noisy.  You might call:  623-842-1265

Gini, the LinkLite is an obvious choice, because it's a drop-in replacement for your Link-10. That should minimize the cost of installation--it's just a matter of disconnecting the wires from the Link-10 and connecting them to the new unit. You'll find the LinkLite pretty similar in operation to your Link-10, so there'll be a minimum of confusion with the new unit.
The Trimetric is a different shape, it's much larger... and in my humble opinion, much more confusing to use. What you save on the purchase cost you'll end up spending on the installation. Get the LinkLite. You can probably install it yourself, if you follow the directions.

I believe the shunt is the same and so is the wiring.
Shouldn't take more than a half hour to change out.
A Trimetric would be a new installation, a lot more labor with no real advantages.
Stick with the LinkLite.

Gini,
I will second that. We had them install our Wave 3 heater and they did an excellent job. You can read some other reviews about them on RV Service Reviews here. I should add I wrote one of them.
