Check out the Meritline LED that Andy posted couple weeks ago. It's all that most of us need. I lose things too easily to spend over a hundred dollars on a flashlight. YMMV.Larry

I bought a dozen, the problem with them is they stink from the rubber. I just sit them outside for a couple of weeks and they are fine. Don't feel bad if I lose one. Of course not as bright as above but I do not have 300 for a flashlight.I think a 3 cell AAA is worthless no matter how cheap they are. All of mine went to the trash.FYI the brightest "flashlight" that you can buy and hold is a custom made carbon arc that I saw in Pop Sci. I think it was about 18" long and 10" diaI think it was $15,000 and guess who buys it, the military. You could look for a LD a mile away in the dark.__ From: steve goodmans58@...> To: lifewithalazydazerv@yahoogroups.com Sent: Tuesday, January 3, 2012 9:58 AM Subject: [LD] what do you think of this FENIX flashlighthttp://www.amazon.com/Fenix-TK45-High-Performance-Flashlight/dp/B003URQEBO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325613126&sr=8-1I am new at all this high tech/ high priced flashlights. What I liked about it, It runs on regular AA batteries. That's a very broad statement, Steve. Doesn't it seem a little far-fetched to condemn flashlights based on whether they have two batteries (good, according to you) or three (worthless, according to you)? That's a bit like saying Fords are great but Mercuries are worthless. ;-) In any case, quite a few of us disagree with you, based on our experience with the zooming CREE flashlight mentioned here earlier. Have you tried one? If not, perhaps you shouldn't be so quick to judge them fit only for the trash.Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels/

Are you ready to upgrade?I have a spot with hookups and drain you can park in. then we will have a 2-AA vs 3-AAA show down, last guy shinning loses, ha ha ha I throw my 3-AAAs out because I lose the battery holders.Where are you now?? I'm not planning to be in that area anytime soon, but if our paths ever cross, I'd be happy to show you the interior layout of my modified midbath. I'm still extremely happy with it--I have no plans to upgrade, because I can't imagine anything I'd like better!Andy Baird http://www.andybaird.com/travels/
