Seeking 2010 or newer 27MB in the new year!
Yahoo Message Number: 127557
Well folks, I am back.  Have owned a '91MB, '03MB, 5th wheel and a 2005 Born Free 24R. Now we are coming back to Lazy Daze (I think).
The Born Free was a well built, nice driving rig that you might say was a little "fancier" than the LD.  But when I asked the wife, she said she prefered the practicality and functionality of the MBs we owned better.
Would be interested in hearing from any of you that have an LD based on the newer E450 platform.  Does it drive and ride better?  Is the leg space better on the passenger side?
Any thoughts or comments on the late model units would be appreciated.  Steve, you knew I would be back didn't you!

Hey Jeff!
Did I know you would be back? Well, since you exchange "toys" more often than most of us, I figured you would continue through the RV menu and end up back here eventually. But I thought by now you would have gone through a diesel pusher, maybe a Tiffin Phaeton, by now.;-)
I did have a chance to check out a couple of new 2011 Lazy Daze rigs last summer; I think you'll like most of the "improvements". One of the owners is on his 2nd LD with a Tiffin Phaeton in between. He did comment that his new LD seems to handle better than the earlier E450 LD he had owned. I really like the newer dash and storage console. I don't think there is more foot room on the passenger side though.
Good luck with the search. I think the pickings will be kind of slim on 2010/2011 rigs though since so few have been ordered the last couple years.

Steve,
Wow, you are wiser than you know!  I spent quite a few hours at the Hersey PA RV show last year sitting in that Tiffin Phaeton.  But, I decided to retire instead and move back to the MidWest where I grew up. Wife is teaching college here so we will have summers to play and see a few places before my son gets "too old" to hang with us.  Once again the LD MB seems like the best choice. My family lives about 2 hours away and my plan is to leave the rig there at a seasonal site for weekend visits when we aren't taking the bigger trips in the summer.
I've also considered things like the Tiffin Breeze but I'm not sure you get that much more for the money.

Jeff

Jeff, after looking at quite a few RVs in 2011, and trying to have an open mind about the choices, it will be very difficult for us to buy something other than another LD Midbath.
The Breeze is an interesting item but in my opinion has way too many shortcomings, expecially if there are more than two of you. We had hoped the longer Breeze would address the lack of wardrobe space but it falls very short.
We did run into a few folks this year who have traded down in size from big diesel pushers to the Winnie's on Sprinter chassis, particularly the unit with a full slideout. They are happy about the MPG, but time will tell if the other compromises make sense.
It will be hard to replace our LD, that is for sure! Heading to Cleveland RV show on Wed, in search of an RV fix.
