On almost a daily basis someone finds it necessary to complain about the new Lazy Daze color scheme. A month or so ago one person complained about the one they saw in Grand Tetons campground the end of September saying "Blech!!!". That was ours. Thanks, loads.
Since more than half of the owners of new units have chosen the new color scheme, consider what you are saying to us. Bottom line is that we have all chosen what we all pretty much agree is the best Class C out there. There have been some changes along the way. We all choose what works best for us in size, style, color, and yes, in paint scheme. So enough, already. Please keep your displeasure to yourselves.

People do have differing opinions, and of course they're going to express them here--thats' what this forum is about. The trick is not to take those opinions personally. For example, when somebody says "I find the midbath layout claustrophobic because of the narrow corridor in the middle," I don't feel as if my choice of a midbath is being criticized. It's just not the right model for that person. No big deal.
And so it is with exterior colors and stripes. There are plenty of choices, and what suits one person may not suit the next... and that's fine. And we talk about it here, and that's fine too. :-)

I have a 2010 MB and love it ....
I happy for the new paint design and love that too.
As Andy very diplomatically expressed, we are adults, we make decisions that make us happy and comfortable, and share those on this forum...all that is good. But this routine griping about a paint design is getting old as John and Patti in Golden Co and Linda and John in Larkspur Co , and now me have noted. I would ask that if the new design is not for you...thats fine, but some of us like it, paid for it, and enjoy it...please can we  put this item in this valuable forum to bed. Thanks

Amen.
Bernie and I are the proud and happy owners of the very first LD with the modern paint scheme that Steve Newton ever produced for a customer. On the road and in campgrounds, we hear many spontaneous "Wow!" compliments about BluCon, our '09 MB. We still love the traditional look and would have been very happy with it, but we've never regretted our decision to be trailblazers.

This is our third new Lazy Daze and I love the new design.
We bought our first one in 1992.   It is a nice change with the new design.

Okay, some like this and others like that! But, when we meet going in opposite directions on the Interstate, don't be surprised if I don't blink my lights and wave as you pass. The reason is that I won't recognize you as a fellow Lazy Daze but rather as another SOB. ;~)

Enough? I don't think so. We have not even addressed paint colors. No sense in even talking about the lunkheads who have blue and green. I have heard, but never seen, that some rigs are painted some disgusting shade of desert dirt. No class at all. Gray and red - more meatheads.
The only paint scheme worth having is camo. We took ours to Chico's and Bert's Paint Emporium right there in Pomona before we did anything else.

We just wonder if Ed knows that Steve did a whirly design and quit painting the faux windows?

We painted ours camo: right side: http://www.flickr.com/photos/safoocat/5096870443/ back: http://www.flickr.com/photos/safoocat/5103069461/ left side: http://www.flickr.com/photos/safoocat/5134174040/

at least the rear 3/4's of it and haven't got around to finishing it. That was last year.
The interesting thing is camo really works. When viewed from a distance the front part of the coach is clearly visible but the camo part is very hard to see. I'm thinking of doing more fall colors for the front with some orange and yellows thrown in.
Another neat thing about it is if you get a scratch or something you can just spray over it. Prep was minimal though we did mask the windows. It was done with spray cans. The maple leafs are semi gloss the rest are flat camo paint but the rear bumper is primer.
We haven't gotten hassled over it so it's no big deal at this point.

We had to chuckle when you actually posted pics.  Like a couple of others we thought you were kidding when you mentioned camo.  While we won't be breaking out any paint for our rig anytime soon we thought it was awesome that you decided to take the plunge with a "road less traveled" modification to your rig.

Is it cold where you are at?  My wife and I were curious about how much solar gain (heating) there would be with the darker paint and how that might impact comfort levels inside.

That was great though!  Thanks for sharing your work!

It's pretty cold where we live and we haven't traveled enough to see if the rig gets too hot however we also are thinking it's too dark and have plans to simply paint over the dark areas with lighter colors at some point. It's so easy. Thanks for your comment.
We have cut outs of Reflectix for all the windows for added insulation. One time when we had to park in the hot sun for several days at an amateur radio field day we hung a tarp over the sunny side and that helped a bit but that was before the camo paint job. The original paint had a dark brown wide stripe also.
