Hi,
For those of you who were interested in seeing my new paint job, here is the link.  I am very happy [:)]  with the quality and new look. The old paint was so faded and had many chips that really don't show in the old photos.

I will also be painting the inside and replacing the carpet with new Resista refresh. I had a slow leak from the fresh water tank ball shut off valve. I replaced it with a PVC ball valve from ACE.
Excited about hitting Highway (Route 66 SW)  from Springfield, IL in fews weeks .

Armand, that is great!  I am curious since mine is a 2000 and I have been wanting to have it painted.  Could you share with me what this cost? Thanks, Betty Jean  ()

Great paint job Armand!  Are those air horns on the roof?  If so how do you power them?

Safe travels,

"Are those air horns on the roof?"

Nice paint job! Bet that cost a few bucks and you got a new paint scheme in the process.
I do wonder how long the air horns are going to remain where they are before a tree branch removes one or both. Having tree branches brush over the top of the LD is common occurrence.
If you make it to the West Coast, bring it to a LD Caravan Club event or the Yahoo West GTG, in March. We would love to see it.

Nice looking paint job!  I like the color scheme..

Also, just an FYI.. If you or anyone else wants one, replacement front Lazy Daze decals are available from the mothership -- only the Montclair version though -- no more "Pomona, CA" versions for those older rigs..
Sorry, I do not know the cost..

Dear Armand,

Love the paint job.  I also would like to know the cost and place where you had it painted.

It looks like an expensive paint job. That is a lot of real estate to prep and paint and must be done in an large spray booth.
Somebody loves their LD.

I like the darker, solid color on the overhead, a whole new look.
Good work.

Hi Dave,
Yes, the horns on the roof have a small 12VDC air compressor that hold enough air to blow the horns for about 15 seconds and automatically recharges with air. The tank is about 12" X 5" and is right above the front cabinet drivers side.

Thanks,

Armand

If you look at how sailboats keep lines from fouling on protrusions on deck, they use stainless (aluminum could be used too)tubing to make a protective loop or cage around things that could get snagged. Something like that would protect the air horns from small tree limbs, big stuff would still damage things.

Thanks Eric! I also spent 3 days painting the inside. I feel like I have a brand new rig.

Thanks Larry! The woman that painted my rig also has a person that can send rendering computer images. She emailed me what the rig will look like. I will add it to my before and after pitures.

I was just looking at the Harvet Hosts' website and all of a sudden up comes a picture of a couple of LDs parked at a farm.  That sure did catch my attention.  And then I noticed Lorna's name as the contributor of the pictures.  Way to go Lorna!!!

Ahh shucks, thanks Judy!
That's Joan Taylor's rig in the foreground; mine in the rear.  The photo was taken during a visit to Purple Haze Lavender Farms in Sequim, WA.  That same photo was also used in Trailer Life's July, 2011 issue.
More and more "hosts" are being added to Harvest Hosts' lineup from coast to coast -- a really nice alternative (for a $30.00 annual membership) to rest stops, truck stops and Walmarts when you just want to get from Point A to Point B:
