Water pump April 24, 2011, 06:02:52 pm Yahoo Message Number: 122121We are getting our 2004 -26 1/2 mid bath ready for the camping season. The unit was winterized last fall using the blow out method with compressed air through the lines. My husband filled up the water tanks 2/3rds but full when we turn on the pump we get nothing. No sound from the pump what so ever. The water pump light is on at the control panel so we think the fuse for water pump is good. We checked in manual and believe we have followed all of the steps turn the water back on.Have we missed something? Is our water pump bad.

I presume you know about the Velcro-ed on panel to get to the pump. The panel would be at your left foot as you stand at the sink. Other than that, you would need to check for power availability at the pump with a volt meter. It could be that a "wire nut" got pushed off during the winterizing process.Alex Rutchka, SE #4 '05 MB

Just make sure the pump is making absolutely no sound. After the pump gets air in it, it can take a long time for the pump to re-prime itself. During this time our WhisperKing just sort of hums. After refilling the tank, I'll leave the pump off and a faucet open for a while to get some water to flow into the pump housing. It still usually takes a few minutes for the pump to re-prime properly and really start pumping again, after turning the pump on.Art

It still usually takes a few minutes for the pump to re-prime properly and really start pumping again, after turning the pump on. --- The first time that I drained and flushed the water heater, I thought that either there was a major leak somewhere or that the pump was defunct; it took a long time for the Whisper King to hum itself into a "re-prime" and fill the lines and the hot water tank! Now that I know what to expect, I'm not concerned when the pump takes its time to get everything flowing again!Joan 1 Likes

Thought it was a goner...and of course it is a weekend and reservations for Monday night in Lancaster PA. It was just the added time to re prime the pump. This Forum saves again. Thanks, Sue
