Joan, Thanks for the info. I checked my 2010 Ford intake area and did not find the full blocking as illustrated but did find what could be a partial blocking by the flap as show. I pushed the flap further back making an unobstructed air passage.

This was really great information!  A quick check showed that the air intake on our 2010 MB was partially blocked by the mispositioned flap.  Putting the flap
