For those of you with a red LD, here is a paint tip.

If you need to paint anything you have added or made for your red LD here is a paint to use which gives a good color match. Use Hammerite Rust Cap, hammered red #4180, widely available. It is an excellent paint in its own right and cures to a hard tough finish. It does not require primer and it covers rust. I just repainted our bicycle rack with it  and it matches the red color quite well.
