Reseal your LD roof in One Day for Less $$$!
Yahoo Message Number: 118358
A few months ago, I read a great posting by Larry complete with a link, which showed step by step pictures of him taking on the arduous task of resealing the LD roof seams in just one days time!

After viewing his link, I was convinced that I could do a reseal of the aluminum roof, prior to which I would have never attempted the job!
The job was made a lot easier by using Larry's discovery, "Rockwells Vibratory SoniCrafter Tool" https://www.sonicrafter.com/ ($120.00 + S/H) a vibrational Scraper that makes easy work of getting the old sealant off!
I found a similar but much cheaper tool at Harbor Freight Reg priced at $39.99 that I bought on sale for $29.99.
Anyone interested in doing their own resealing of their LD aluminum roof in one day can now do it even more inexpensively as Harbor Freight will have their Multifunction Power Tool #67256 on sale for 3 days after Thanksgiving for just $19.99. That's over $100.00 less than the SonicCrafter Tool by Rockwell.
You'll save a ton of money over the factory's $1,200-$1,800 price for resealing, by doing it yourself! (The factory removes the old sealant by hand!)
Take Larry's suggestion and buy a few extra scraper blades to get you through the task of removing the old sealant.
A recent call to the factory informed me that they are now sealing the roof seams with PL PolyUrethan Sealant for Doors & Windows which is available at Home Depot.
They previously used PR-255 Pro-Series Sealant by OSI SEALANTS, INC. which I understand is no longer available!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

"Can you tell me what kind of roller you used on the Eternabond tape?"

Dale
Just about any roller will work. A wall paper or veneer roller will work fine.
If you still end up with bubbles, they can be popped by cutting a tiny hole in the bubble and then pressing down and squeezing the air out. The tape will reseal itself.
