30 IB Valve Assembly
Yahoo Message Number: 117796
I decided it was time to replace the failing seals on my black water valves. Has anyone else attempted this?
Because after struggling yesterday afternoon to get the assembly off, I could not get the new ones on tonight. In fact, there is so little clearance between the plastic fittings which hold the seals, I determined that the mothership had to have assembled the entire plumbing from underneath and almost entirely in one piece (likely the PVC was done and the black water tank caulk and pipe clamp was done last). Seriously, the gap for the valve is less than the width of the valve. Grrrr....
Anyways, if someone has some suggestions as to how this may be done, I'd greatly appreciate it. I suspect that one or both of the tanks may have to move, but that seems like overkill. Another option is to re-plumb all of it, but I can't imagine that LD would make this so "unserviceable".

Thanks in advance.

I just looked at my 2006 IB and it has the insulation around most of the valves. Enough has flaked off to show a hose clamp screw on the right side of the valves. Although I have not done this to the LD I have recently done it to my SOB this summer.
If it doesn't have a rubber splice held on by hose clamps, it can be installed afterwards (once you cut the existing PVC). The clamps loosen, and the valve assembly comes out as one piece. I found that the old valterra valves I had did not match up with the new ones on the shelves or
