Replacing Lazy Daze with Class A

I beleive that several members of this group have replaced their Lazy Daze with a class A diesel pusher.
This is something that my wife and I are considering and I would like to discuss this with those of you that have made this change.  What do you consider to be the "Lazy Daze" of class A diesel pushers?
Would you please email me privately at pappawoo at yahoo dot com with any comments you care to share.

Thank you.

Louis

If you do not get any satisfactory replies, you might try RV.org. The give ratings on all motor homes.

I consider the Allegro, made in NW Alabama by a family, to be a good choice, having owned one years ago.  Another choice , constructed by a fine family in Texas is the Foretravel.  They  both are much more pricey but well made.  One major drawback to me is the fiberglass covering, any moisture behind the glass and delamination, aka bubbled surfaces.  Hope this helps, Doc 2000 FL

Be sure and let us know how many items are on your initial punch list to be fixed. Proximity to the manufacturer would be a pre-purchase consideration for me.
Happy in our 150 square feet. Parked in a FS CG along a babbling river where no Class A would it.

YES, Jim and I did this in June for a wonderful Foretravel '99 U320 40ft one owner well maintained we purchased at the Foretravel Factory - the whole process/experience with Foretravel has been pleasurable, upfront, within our budget and handled with great professionalism -
Highly recommend for anyone wanting to upgrade from the best Class C there is to come to Foretravel, they are superior, solid built, no other diesel pusher out there is built like a FT
We've been so busy the last 8 weeks or so we have neglected getting our precious "Starr" advertised properly and she is upset with us to no end - she and I have had some good cries as she was to be our forever coach and we just adore her - Our only reason to move up was due to Jim's health conditions and my desire to continue to full time and needed more CCC
The Foretravel with it's almost 6K ccc and 10K towing capacity has now allowed me to keep lots of things I was being faced with parting with & now allows me to tow my truck a '06 3/4 ton 4x4 crew cab, just what ever woman needs 'o)

Greetings Folks, I too have upsized to a Class A due to percieved requirements for added CCC for fulltiming. Due to budgetary constraints and wanting to keep with the high quality standards of a Lazy Daze I have chosen to go with a vintage Bluebird. I bought a well cared for 1985 PT40 and I think this unit will carry me thru the rest of my days.

Between Lazy Daze units, a 1985 TK then, and a 2005 RB now, for eight years we had a 40-foot Mountain Aire, and were very pleased with it.
It was a delight to live in.  We had a lot of space, which I am only now beginning to appreciate, for living and storage.

BUT . . . it was a lot of trouble to drive from place to place, and to get parked.  It was easy for me; I just had to talk into the walkie- talkie, but my husband had a fair amount of difficulty with it.  He usually did a good job, and didn't have to make too many passes at it, but he said it was quite a strain, both in the driving and the parking.  I always drove in our van separately, so seldom rode in the big rig while it was under way.
Unfortunately, once he became sick, it was no longer possible for him to maneuver it around at all, so we traded it in on the RB a bit over a year ago.  He has no problem with driving the Lazy Daze, just not for more than a couple of hours a day, so we don't get very far.  We usually need to drive a [part of] a day, and then rest up the next day before continuing on.

We very much appreciate the fact that we can now pretty much stay anywhere we want at night, and not have to worry about if the campground is "big rig friendly".

Were I to be in the market for another DP, it would be a Mountain Aire or a Foretravel.

Another previous LD owner, now Foretravel owner.  We've had our coach 6 years now.  When we researched to buy ours, Foretravel was the only brand that came close to what Lazy Daze had set as the bar.
