Has anyone found a way to lock the Fiberglas spare tire cover?
Yahoo Message Number: 111800
I have a 94' LD 26.5' MidBath and recently put 7 New Michelin Tires on.

Has anyone devised a way (or is something commercially available) to lock or otherwise prevent a would be thief from opening the Fiberglas spare tire cover?
Also, is there any locking mechanism to directly secure the spare tire to the studs??
Times being what they are, I'd like to prevent any theft of my spare. I know the thin flimsy Fiberglas tire cover isn't much of a deterrent from a thief but out of sight, out of mind. I'd like to find a way to lock both the cover and the spare tire.

Thanks,

Ed 94' LD 26.5' MidBath Port Richey, FL

Yes. You should be able to purchase a spare tire stud lock at most any auto parts store or tire outlet. Mine was made by Master Lock.

Ours just has an elastic cover, but the spare is secured with a keyed lock nut designed for tire studs. It came with ours, so you'll have to research a source.
