You have to remove the top , slide in the main unit and then slide in the cover and set it back on top. I also carried the small 5 or 6 lb propane tanks and carried them in rear compartments. Look at the pictures on the Picasa site to see how its done. In the same outside compartment under the dinette seat. We first slide in the 5 LB propane tank, then the main unit without the lid, then the lid goes in upside down with all of the utinsels, hose and picnic table cover inside. They're simple to remove! So I'll try storing the Weber and its lid (separately) in the back passenger, outside compartment next time we use Ciao. That would be so much easier. Sadly, on the older MB's, we do not have the lift on the dinette seat, just a door on the aisle to open and slide things in, which is challenging for all but lightweight items. Chris H, Ned totally agreed with you that the lid is critical to cooking. But we do want your timetable so we can cook as simply as you do! Particularly, we'd love to know your cooking times and temperatures for:Chicken Hamburgers (big, juicy ones) pork chops steakApproximates are fine. Most importantly the burners put out as much heat as most conventional gas grills, critical for getting that nice sear on a ribeye! It's also got interchangable plates, I bought a griddle plate and a "stove top" so it can be used as an outdoor range/griddle. Got mine for 159 on sale at a Fred Meyer. Uses the small Coleman bottles with an optional whip for hookup to a 20lb tank. It takes up more area than the smaller Weber Q but believe it's shorter (flatter?) when broken down for storage. I think it's got more surface area to cook on than the Q as well. Plus did I mention it's got wheels?
