Cleveland, OH service ?
Yahoo Message Number: 111680
We bought a used 2004 mid bath last October.  Brought it home and covered it.  Now it's time for tires, maintenance, the works, but I don't have a clue where to service it.  This is our first "real" RV so I want to do it right plus I can't wait to hit the road.  Does anyone know where I can have it serviced in Ohio and what kind of tires work the best for Lazy Daze?  Thanks, Deb

Deb, there's a very good article on tires in our website's Files > Maintenance & Repairs > ABOUT YOUR TIRES.doc section. Also see our Database > Maintenance/Installation Facilities for a collection of recommended service facilities.
Perhaps someone with experience in your area can offer more specific information, but your first step should be to call Ford truck dealers in your area and ask whether they service RVs built on Ford's E450 chassis.

You might want to try Ford Motorhome Customer Assistance Center: 1-800-444-3311; they can suggest a Ford truck center to service your rig.

and what kind of tires work the best for Lazy Daze?
Andy pointed you to the "About Your Tires" document in the "Files' section; email me if I can answer any questions.

Hi Deb!
Glad to learn there is another LD in the Cleveland area! We have a 2003 LD mid bath and we are located in the southern part of Cuyahoga county. If you post your e-mail address, I will contact you off the LD board to share some LD info with you, or we could talk by phone.
When I needed tires, I had difficulty finding a tire dealer that would install them on the Lazy Daze. I ended up buying Michelin LTX M&S tires (an exact replacement of the original tires our rig came with) through NTB in Strongsville, Ohio. They were one of the few places that was actually willing to install tires on our rig. If you belong to Costco, you could order tires through them but when I last checked, they would not install on RVs.
If you want to buy Goodyear tires, or have a front end alignment, the Wingfoot Commercial tire center in Brunswick will sell and install Goodyear tires. I have only used them for front end alignments and their work has been first rate.
As for Ford service, I have used several Ford dealers in the area but I wouldn't feel good about sharing my opinions on a public forum like this. Let's just say most of the better Ford dealers in the area won't work on RVs. Depending on where in the area you live, I could share where I would go privately.
I have found a great independent repair facility in the area that can do almost any kind of service on your rig; from repairs on the truck to servicing the refrigerator. So far, my experience with them has been great.

Look forward to speaking with you and sharing LD info.
Steve K. (also looking forward to hitting the road. It was a long winter in NE Ohio!)

Steve,
For what is worth, the Costco near Charlotte, NC installed  those very same tires on my '05 MB.   They did it outside the bay and worked around my Borg long valve stems to boot.  They even balanced the tires with the tire pressure monitor transmitters on the valves.  Not that it's a big deal, they used Nitrogen to pump the tires.
I did have to pre-pay for tires and wait a few days for the tires to be delivered to the store.

Hi Alex,
I do crazy things, but I am NOT going to drive to Charlotte to have Costco put tires on my rig when I need'em again! ;-)
Funny thing about Costco. A new one opened up in Strongsville, Oh. I enquried about buying a pair of 6 volt batteries to replace my Trojans as some others have done. These guys don't seem to even know that Costco has 6 volt batteries available.

I bet I could get those in NC too!;-)

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.  I'm going to check out the tire info and hopefully talk with Steve about places to get her all ready to go.

Thanks
Deb,
Yahoo cuts off your e-mail address when you use the @ in your address. I have tried sending you several e-mails but with no response from you, I have no idea if the messages got through.
If you still want some references for service and tire shops in the Cleveland area let me know.
