Direct TV Sat-Go

This is new to me, but perhaps others are already aware of it.  Having become completely exasperated by the new Motorola DVR-Receivers that Time-Warner Cable is foisting on us in Los Angeles (the interface is unbelievably bad as well as other glitches), I was cruising the Direct TV site and came across this product.  It's a TV/SatReceiver/Dish -in-a-box.  Actually, "in-a-briefcase."  It's an all-in-one unit about the size of a briefcase (when folded and closed) for viewing satellite TV on the road.  No separate dish required.  Here's the specs:

Screen size 17-inch flat panel LCD 1280 by 1024 resolution

Dimensions (closed) Width: 19.5 in Height: 5.1 in Depth: 19.5 in Weight: 27.2 lbs

Power AC/DC power input (120 V 60 Hz, AC or 12V/24V, DC)
The price stated was $499, with an asterix (of course) that lead to:
"You must call 1-800-DIRECTV to order. The DIRECTV Sat-Go provides reception of satellite TV signals in areas with a clear view of the TV satellite in the southern sky. The DIRECTV Sat-Go is not intended for use when operating a motor vehicle. DIRECTV programming available separately. There is an additional fee to mirror programming from an existing DIRECTV account for each DIRECTV Sat-Go receiver. For information on pricing for programming, visit directv.com. Programming, pricing, terms and conditions are subject to change at any time. Receipt of DIRECTV programming is subject to the terms of the DIRECTV Customer Agreement; copy provided at directv.com/legal and in first bill."
The first (and perhaps the critical) issue would be that it probably doesn't work INSIDE a rig unless (a) the "dish" works through our smoked windows) and (b) you're parked with a southern exposure.  The hype gushes about applications all outside:
"Enjoy 100% digital TV in the stadium parking lot, campground, at the beach, backyard — wherever. DIRECTV® Sat-Go (Satellite-To-Go) combines a crystal clear 17-inch LCD TV, DIRECTV® Receiver and DIRECTV antenna — in one compact, mobile satellite TV system. All you need is a clear view of the southern sky."

Still, this might be of interest to some.  Here's the link:

Has anyone seen one of these in action?

It must be very new; there is little information about it on the web.
Here is a link to the owner's manual.

It has a built in compass and elevation indicator. The lid must be aimed toward the satellite, limiting the viewing angle.

No, it won't work inside...it is meant for outdoor applications such as tailgating.  Even if I were interested in watching TV outdoors (which I'm not), I certainly wouldn't buy this sight unseen...no telling the quality of the TV screen.
I wouldn't buy it, anyway.  For about the same price, maybe even a lot less, one can purchase one of the multiple-LNB dishes (if you're interested in HD or need to "see" more than one satellite at a time) and mount it on a tripod.
