This was before we had an RV, we did it in our Honda Accord. We went to Ely from Idaho so I could ride the Nevada Northern RR. While visiting the old RR station, I chatted with a fellow in a rather elderly Class C who was in the station parking lot. There's plenty of room, and he appeared to have been there for a few days. It doesn't hurt if you buy a ticket for the train. Technology buffs will have a field day in the old railroad shops--they're the real thing, not a recreation. As I recall, it was at the local Chamber of Commerce that I picked up a Route 50 traveler's card. They'll stamp the "Ely" spot, and as you travel west, there are spots in Eureka, Austin, Fallon and Fernley where your card can be stamped. Completed cards can be sent to the Nevada State Tourism office in Carson City, and they'll send a "Loneliest Road Survivor" certificate.
