Cushions replaced and recovered

Does anyone in the Portland Oregon area know who will recover and replace cushions in the Lazy Daze. We need  replacement of some of the foam and recovering of the dinette cushions.
Thanks jerri

Hi Jerri,
While I don't know of an upholster in your area, you could use any competent one. This is not rocket science. We used one local to use on a warranty claim.
You want the highest density foam.
New material might be trickier to find. You want material that wears like iron and it's likely to be expensive.
I might start with a decorator. Seriously, one that handles a lot of materials. At least, talk with them to find out the sources of such fabrics.
Perhaps someone else who has done this will have some sources.

OK, I have stated the obvious. Now for the experts.

Here is a very good article on foam: http://www.carrscorner.com/foam.php
It explains the three performance tests that make up foam: High Resilient (HR), Density, and Indentation Load Deflection (ILD).  I would really recommend reading it so that you know what to ask for when looking for replacement foam.
I don't know of anyone in the Portland area, but we did find a place in Boise, ID that will replace the foam...and they'll put in whatever HR, ILD, and Density foam you want.  We're going to have the foam in our camper cushions replaced by them: Leisure Mattress Factory, http://www.hacksack-leisure.com/.

My recommendation would be to use memory foam. This is not the memory foam as used in mattress toppers (which is fairly low density), but rather is higher density memory foam. It goes by several trade names, TempurFoam, NASA foam, Confor, etc. It is available in several densities, green is extra firm, then blue, pink, yellow (soft). Memory foam "flows" and conforms so as not to create hot spots. You can sit in comfort for hours - - in fact, it's used for wheelchair pads and for hospital patients to help prevent bed sores.

It is more expensive than regular foam, but worth it.
