Musings on style and quality March 12, 2010, 07:56:38 am Yahoo Message Number: 110980We just had our '04 RB detailed by Tim Pease and the results are amazing. All the surfaces of our rig are bright and shiny and she looks almost brand new. His attention to detail is incredible and the money was well spent. Looking at her, I wouldn't know that she wasn't just off the sales lot, that is if LD had one. Which brings me to thinking about all the new styling that we're seeing on Lazy Dazes now. I have mixed feelings about it all. On one hand, a company wants to innovate to drive sales, on the other, the classic look of our rigs is just perfect in the cluttered world of RV styling. All the swirls and graphics can't make up for the missing quality in the SOBs. Having worked in retail for a decade or so, I learned the lesson that products come and go, but classic styling and quality is what made a product sell for years. I'm just wondering how far LD will go with their new look. What attracted me, and I think many of us to LD, is the timeless design and inherent attention to detail. I know the quality standards won't be diminished by the new design, I'm just hoping that the classic, retro design isn't left in the dust. So, if you see a brand new looking brown RB in and around Southern California and are wondering just how old she is, think of Tim. He did a fabulous job.Jules and Sue two gals, two dogs, traveling in our Bella Bear
Re: Musings on style and quality Reply #1 – March 12, 2010, 09:43:57 am Yahoo Message Number: 110983Jules and Sue, We like the 50 plus year old paint scheme also. It does bring some interesting comments from those with SOB's. Last week, a woman came up to us gushing about how much she liked it. Her first question was how old is it? When we told her KoKo was two years old, she could not think of anything else to say. At a GTG last year, another woman stopped to admire the rigs as she did her daily walk. She finally asked where did we find all the old rigs and who restored them? Being retro feels good to us. If only gas prices were the same as when the Newtons's painted the first LD.

I would like to have this done to our rig, and I am well aware of the quality of Tim's work.--Al in (rainy) Bremerton --2002 26.5 MB

The silky smoothness on all the surfaces shines and sparkles to my satisfaction.Happy motoring,JulesTwo gals, two dogs, in our Bella Bear
