Broken Gauge on Propane Tank

Looks like our gauge is broken on our propane tank. Do we need to get a special replacement gauge that will somehow connect to the inside monitor panel? Thanks for help. Pretty clueless.

My on-tank propane gauge often appears broken, but when I unscrew the little protective plastic cap, the needle springs back to action.  So I leave it only partially screwed on so it will not obstruct the needle's movement.  I'd first check that the needle is not blocked by the cap.

Hoping that's a simple fix for you, Tessa

What are the symptoms? Does it constantly read full? Empty? What about the LED readout on the stove hood--does that still work?
