Sherry, Our 27' RB is under construction now and should be completed near the end of March. Maybe you could go see it before we get there from Florida. We had a 26' Born Free with basically the same floor plan.
Always enjoyed that layout. We attended a SE Lazydazers get-to-gether last fall and the gracious coach owners allowed my wife and I a chance to see the different floor plans and learn why they chose their model.
We couldn't find anyone that had any bad complaints about the LD coach. The older coaches also looked nearly as good as the newer coaches. This is when we made our decision to order the RB as it best fit our camping style (mostly boondocking).
Other reasons for our choice. First, we enjoy sleeping in the cab- over loft. If we have guest there is more open space to move around in and converse easily. The bath is spacious also. When driving you can still use the inside rear view mirror (with the aid of a fresnel wide stick on lens on the rear glass). That saves having a rear camera ($$ $). Having the second sofa adds more storage space also.  There is plenty of space for cooking as we mostly have our meals "At home." We added some options that suited us and we were still spending many thousands $$ less than what we paid for a new Born free 6 years ago! We really like the insulation of the coach shell for both heat and cold protection.
Anyway it's what works for us. Everyone has their own good reasons for their floor plan choice. This was ours.
If anyone happens to be at the factory and spots our coach, (it will be in the paint shop next week getting the new style graphics in green) let us know how it looks. Tell Todd Miller you are a spy for the Coachman's.
Sherry, whatever you choose for your reasons, you will be very pleased with the LD.

Mike, Thank you ! We will sure take a look and see how they are doing with your 27 RB about March 11th. How long from your order date until you will have it? We want to order in time to get ours by November so we can spend the Winter in Santee, CA.

Hi Mike, this is an old e-mail but at least I have your address on it.  With your new LD do you have enough plug in outlets or did you order more. I have been reading where people do not have enough plug in's. Most likely it is too late for us to order more but I am just wondering. Thanks, sherry

Sherry, Now that we have used the coach, here are some outlet additions we should have made: (1) An AC outside outlet on both sides of the coach; (2) An AC outlet at the TV location (for a DVD player) and on the wall there facing the bunk bed (for a foot heating pad). We did have an AC plug added under the dinette next to the DC outlet. That has been handy. WE also added a DC outlet in the overhead cabinet above the dinette if we use a internet router in the future. Otherwise, the standard locations LD has works for us.
After our 3300-mile wandering return to FL from picking up the new coach @ LD, we must say that this is the best made, convenient to use new coach we have ever had (#6 so far). With every other new coach (2- diesel pusher class A's and 3 class C's), we had at least a year of correcting problems before all systems functioned properly. We had NO nit-picking problems with the LD coach or chassis on our trip. The only glitch was a plastic sealed circuit board on the Onan generator had cracked causing the generator to shut down. It was easily replaced @ Cummins/Onan Albuquerque and worked fine ever since. Since we dry camp a lot, we were impressed with how well the two solar panels kept the Lifeline coach batteries topped out each day after an evening of moderate use of the entertainment system (sat TV, computer, phone charging, etc.). The newly added (this year) heat pump worked superbly even in the low 30's outside. It heated the interior very quickly and kept us comfortable all night. The furnace did equally as well when dry camping.
We really like the rear bath. We had Elizabeth's son & daughter (adults) flew into Phoenix and stay with us for several days @ Lost Dutchman State Park (dry camping) and we were never crowded inside. We always sleep in the loft and the 2 sofas worked well for the others.
All are very comfortable for sleeping. The best part of that floor plan is the door that closes off the bath area. That allows plenty of dressing space and privacy for all. The center drain in the shower worked well, even on some not quite level camp sites. That had always been a problem in other coaches (water pooling away from the drain).
Hopefully future leveling won't be a problem as we will be @ Bigfoot in Lakeland tomorrow to have their jacks installed. Even though we live only 1-hour from there, we are staying in their lot tonight (with hookups) so they can get an early start in the morning.
I am already in the process of making additions & modifications to the coach before our summer trip to Newfoundland and who-knows-where- else. I will post those when I am finished next month.

When we picked up our new MB in 2003, the Factory made it clear they never wanted to see us again ;o)
They made sure everything was working AND to our satisfaction before we left. No real problems while we owned it.

Don, The ref. plug on the curb side is the only one available. I will probably add one somewhere in the vicinity of the generator on the street side in the future. The biggest use for me will be for a 1.5gal Sears air compressor I will be carrying.
