Updated Western US Public Campgrounds POI List February 21, 2010, 04:47:10 pm Yahoo Message Number: 110306At long last I have posted the greatly expanded Western US Public Campground POI list for your amusement and edification. I came close to nearly doubling the number of CG's included, from 2525 to 4910. I still have a list of nearly 800 CG's nation-wide whose location I'm trying to pinpoint. You can download the file here:http://wxtoad.com/index.asp?page=gps/gps1.htmI have added more information to the lists about each CG, when possible, to include info about hookups, dump facilities, showers, cost and/or length restrictions, nearest town, National Forest name (where applicable) and campground type.Although I did not generally include hike-in or boat-in sites, a number of the Forest Service CG's listed are not easily, if at all, accessible for RV's, so please verify for yourself whether a particular campground is appropriate for your use.As always, please let me know of any corrections I should make, and if you know of any public campgrounds not on my list, please send me the info and I will include them in the next update.Happy camping!Ted H.'05 RB NE-13@ Destin Army Rec Center, FLwww.wxtoad.com http://www.wxtoad.com/>[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Re: Updated Western US Public Campgrounds POI List Reply #3 – February 22, 2010, 09:16:18 am Yahoo Message Number: 110319Here is another excellent source of National Forest campground listing. In 1999 I met Fred & Suzi Dow while camping on Lake Granby near Grand Lake, Colorado. I had gotten my CRV stuck in a small snow drift on a remote dirt road high up in the mountains there. Fred helped me get out. They were camping at ALL the National Forest campgrounds all across the country for first hand knowledge and impressions of each facility. When we met them, they had already completed the eastern states guide and were working on the western states. They were very interesting and nice folks.Their web site: http://www.forestcamping.com>Mike Coachman[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I have an Excel display pgm in the Palm.John
