Escapees vs. FMCA

Do any of you belong to Escapees or FMCA or both?  If both, which do you prefer?  I know they are not the same after reading their web sites but they both have things to offer. Does anyone go to GTGs with both groups?  Does anyone think it would be a good idea to belong to both or would this be an individual thing?  There happens to be chapters of both organizations in my area.  Any incite would be appreciated.  Thanks muchly!

Why not join both?
We have never belonged to FMCA, even when we owned our Lazy Daze, but we ARE Escapees.  If I could only join one group, it would be the Escapees.
We have gone to the Escapees Escapades, but haven't ever joined a chapter.
But, besides the Escapades and Chapters, the Escapees have dozens of BOF (Birds of a Feather) groups...everything from Alternative Medicine to Worldwide Travelers.  If there's an interest you have, there's probably a BOF group for it.
Additionally, their bi-monthly magazine is probably the best RV-related magazine out there.

Hi Judy, I belong to both Escapees and FMCA. I have attended several rallies with FMCA to learn more about RVing as they sometimes have very useful seminars. However, the organization is very Class A oriented and lacks quality control over their sponsored events which caters more to industry than their members in my opinion. The best thing they do offer is Coachnet, a worthwhile safety insurance addition for RV protection and road assistance. I have used them several times for our LD and they were excellent.
I love Escapees!!! It's much more than just an RV group. These are real caring people who make a real difference in the RVing world. If I had to join only one organization, it would be Escapees! Especially for full-timers, going to most Escapee parks is like going home. I strongly recommend Escapees, their parks, community, magazine, mail services, and care facilities in Livingston, TX.

--- I sure agree that having an emergency road service contract is "worthwhile" (I wouldn't leave the driveway without it!) and that Coach Net is a very good provider, but one doesn't have to be a member of FMCA (or any group) to contract with Coach Net emergency roadside service.  On https://www.coach-net.com/ , click on "RV Owners", then "Join Now".  If one does belong to a listed "club" (see the drop down list), one can sign up online.  If not, call the "membership" number on the page and sign up with the person who answers the phone.  I (and probably quite a few of us) have Coach-Net and are not affiliated with any club.

You can get a discounted rate as an Escapees member, I believe. (It's probably the same rate they offer to FMCA members.)
