Removing linoleum in kitchen or covering it with floating floor?

We thought we could just scrape up the flooring in the kitchen on our 2006, like we had removed some at home. Not. The glue was still extremely tacky, so we stuck the little piece back down, to let someone else deal with it or just put a floating floor over it. We had planned on using Marmoleum, but I don't know we will ever get that glue off and make it smooth enough, so now I'm wondering if we can just put Pergo type floors over it. The tiny difference in height between the sub floor and linoleum would not be noticeable would it?  Again, thank you for any responses.

We have done this, and know several people who have also.  We pulled up the carpet in the rear and laid Pergo-type flooring over the whole floor.  Looks great, and the difference in height of sub floor and linoleum is not noticeable.
