Quick Find! New Links

With soooo much info in our Links, Files, and Database, I thought a Quick Find category would be helpful:

http://tinyurl.com/QuickFind

There you can find quick links to:

1.   FAQ's that our experts have compiled
2.   Ted's compiled notes
3.   Art's searchable archive
4.   Technoz list
5.   "Common problems" folder
6.   Buying - what's for sale right now (our new Cortez family-you'll  like that)
7.   GPS - POI loading info
8.   "LD Changes Thru the Years" file
9.   Blogs
 10.    Campground recs 11.   LD Groups

What else?
Let me know any recurring questions or issues that would be helpful in the Quick Find and I'll add it.

The Tiny URL "QuickFind"  http://tinyurl.com/QuickFind  is easy to refer folks there, although I vote for gentleness when suggesting it.  New people do not need to feel bad for asking questions, even if we've heard them 5,000 times.  I cringe when I hear, "We've beaten that question to death" and such.  Gently, gently let's just send them to Quick Links and they can learn too.  Maybe I'll add a "New Folks" folder.

Hope that helps,

:-)

Dear Gentle Tessa,

This goes a long ways to improving Yahoo's general disorder. Bravo.
May I suggest that the QuickFind link be added to the Home Page.

Cheers, Don

Thank you Tessa.
There are many reasons asking for a fresh perspective on a topic can be helpful. Many times I have come across a topic that may have been "beaten to death" but being a newbee I didn't even think to ask.

"New people do not need to feel bad for asking questions, even if we've heard them 5,000 times."
This situation is why we have a "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQ) section in our Files area, right at the top of the list. When someone joins this group, the welcoming email they receive encourages them to read the FAQ. We do our best to make newbies aware of its resources.
Of course our FAQ can't answer every possible question, but it does address many of the common ones. When I join a new discussion group, before I jump in and start posting questions, I always look for a FAQ to read. That's just good "netiquette."
And when a member posts a question that has already been extensively discussed (such as "Does Lazy Daze have a diesel model?"), I usually give a brief answer and then refer them to either the FAQ or to our archives (http://www.lazydazers.org/Yahoo/msg_display.php>) for more details. That's good netiquette too. :-)

And now, Tessa's "Quick Links" gives us a third resource.
