Tight cord cutting through the pleated shade bottom piece

Andy said > " I found that the cord had actually sawed  through the plastic on one side of the hole where it passes through the bottom  rail of the blind."    Actually this has been happening to my rear shade for a year  or so now, I try to move the shade slowly to minimize the cutting action. I  don't operate the shade very often, but now I have some incentive to  move the repair closer to the top of my to-do list. I assume that the string was  tied off too tightly, and I plan to loosen it up enough to put a steel pin in  the bottom piece for the cord to rub on. If I work on it soon I will report back what I find.
In addition I've had the white plastic edge wrapped around the  flip up TV table, break at the tight radius bends. I was planning to get  some from LD and replace it. Or I might modify that table since I don't use it  for the TV, or anything else, except to cover the 110VAC plug, and the TV amplifier switch/plug.
