Sears is showing an Extech model 14172 infrared thermometer for $19.99 today. For those of you who use one to check tire temperature, would that one be sufficient?

Thank you,

I haven't used this model myself, but Amazon customers who bought it seem to like it:

...and the price is certainly a good one, since this unit lists for $80 and normally sells for about $45. To answer your question, I'm sure it would be fine for checking tire temperatures at rest stops.

Thanks, Andy. I guess it's time to brave the mall crowds.
