map light in cab?

Stardust has a maplight just behind the rear view mirror with a rocker switch that appears to to have no function. It does not turn the light on. The only time the light comes on is when the ignition key is turned off. It's on a delay on turns off automatically.
Am I missing something? Is this switch supposed turn on the light?

Thanks, Richard

No, that switch is not connected to the circuit at all.
If  you want the light on, you can turn it on by rotating the headlight switch.
On mine, I have wired the switch into the circuit so that I can turn the light off if I have the door open for an extended period.

"If you want the [cab interior] light on, you can turn it on by rotating the headlight switch."

Right--twist the headlight knob counterclockwise until it clicks.

Is "Stardust" on a Chevy? GM had lights built into the rear-view mirror that were part of the entry/dome-light system, but could also be switched on with the rocker switch on the mirror.
A company Caprice was forever ending up with a flat battery after bing parked for a few days. It turned out that people didn't know about that light and would leave it on. You couldn't tell it was on in daylight.
