Pelonis Electrical Cube Heater Problem
Yahoo Message Number: 106229
I purchased a Pelonis Model PF1212 four disk ceramic heater in December 2005.  I liked it because of its "soft thermostat" which causes it to vary the amount of heat rather than to cycle on and off.  But, in April of 2007 I returned it to "World Marketing of America" because it no longer seemed to take ambient air temperature into account.  They  replaced the unit and it seemed to work fine.
On a recent trip to British Columbia and Alberta we experienced major night time temperature fluctuations.  The Pelonis heater seemed to put out the same amount of heat regardless of the temperature inside the motorhome.  The fan is sensitive to the temperature setting on the back of the heater unit.  The higher the temperature selected the faster the fan operates.  But, when the ambient air temperature reaches the selected temperature, the unit does not adjust heat output.
It would seem to me that the thermostat which is mounted in the electrical power cord about four inches behind the heater is not working. I can see through the ribs and they appear clean.  The filter is also clean. I suppose it is also possible that the Auto/Manual Switch is malfunctioning.
"World Marketing of America" says this model is still being sold, has no known issues, and no parts are available.
Has anyone else had this experience and if so have you been able to solve the problem?
