3 cheers for Roadmaster!!
Yahoo Message Number: 106061
I had a "rude awakening" on Monday morning as I was on my way over to AM Solar.  I had gotten about 40 miles from home and was on I-90 in Spokane when a car drove alongside and frantically motioned at my rear end (my LD, not mine).  I was right at an off ramp so I got off and parked on a side street.  I assumed I had a tire problem and walked to the rear.  To my complete shock, my practically new tow bar had "fallen off" and was dragging on the road.  I took off the shredded case and things started falling off.  I was able to put it back in it's proper position and decided that I was not far from an area of industrial businesses so slowly headed in that direction.  To make a long story short, I quickly found a tractor place and they removed the whole thing for me to save my back, placed it inside, and didn't charge me.  I stopped for the night near Portland (where another blue LD from Lancaster, CA was parked) and called Roadmaster.  They gave me proper directions and I was there early Tues. morning.  I was prepared for the worst (cost-wise) but they found there was a manufacture error.  On the part that goes into the round lock part on the stinger, the workers hadn't put in enough "washers" and it wasn't going in enough.  So they fixed everything with new parts, gave me a new cover, and gave me a lesson on maintainence that wasn't in the manual.  They were extra nice and now I know that Roadmaster really stands behind their products.

What do you wanna bet, they figured out a long time ago that being nice to customers goes a very long way in preventing silly things such as product liability law suits

Judy, could post your lesson from roadmaster>>>>>>>>>>>>

OK, but I haven't yet verified if this wee bit of info is in the manual or not.  He said to periodically clean out the area of the bigger hole openings along the two sides where the arms are.  Use something like Simple Green with a bottle brush and rinse it out completely and let it dry. Then spray inside with a quick dry silicone. Wipe the arm extensions before retracting them every time you use them so dirt won't get inside.  After every 3 or 4 uses, wipe the extended arms clean and while extended, liberally spray them with a quick dry silicone.  He stressed that you must use only quick dry silicone.  He gave me a can with the Roadmaster logo on it and said they charge $10 but that you can also get the same thing from WalMart for a couple bucks.  Hope that helps.
