ANDY, we apologize for taking this forum for a personal inquiry, but can you tell us the name of the campground you used on your Arizona trek that was near the Grand Canyon?

You could be referring to several campgrounds. As described on these three pages...

... I stayed at Canyon Gateway RV Park in Williams, then drove to the south rim of the Grand Canyon and stayed in the Mather campground, a beautiful, tree-shaded dry camping site in or near Canyon Village.
I chose NOT to stay in Trailer Village, a commercial campground also near Canyon Village, because it was an "RV slum with hookups"--row after row of bare cement pads with no trees to speak of. Ugh!

Not only that, but since it's a concessionaire-run RV park, it does not honor either the Senior Pass or the Access Pass (the old Golden Age Passport or Golden Access Passport) for half-price camping.

Andy, it may be ugly -well, I guess it's REALLY ugly, but housing is at a premium there and folks take whatever they can get if they want to live there. Trailer Village was very safe when we lived there. We had a decent home because the school had enough housing for all employees. The bank, grocery store, gift shops etc. were on their own.
Karen - oh so grounded in NJ. We've even talked about selling Ladybug rather than have her sit for a year!
