Has anyone installed these on their LD or have opinions about them?

Richard
We have one on our dinette window in a MB.It really restricts the amount you can open the window, but you can leave it open in the rain. We probably wouldn't putone on again. A maxxair vent over the fantastic fan is a much better option IMO.

I have a 2001 27RB and put the window vents on the 2 Overhead cab windows, the 2 big windows on the driver's side, and the kitchen sink window.  I would have put it on the big forward passenger side window but it would interfere with the entry door opening. This made me think about "flipping" the window until I realized that wind driven ra

Terry, Thanks for this. This is very helpful information.
Is the "stop nail" easily removed by hand when you want to fully open the windows?

I have put the Max window louvers on my last four RVs.  When I got our final RV,  my Lazy Daze, at the end of '07, they were one of the first things I had installed in the spring.  We always travel with dogs and need the cross ventilation the louvers give you, especially when it is raining and it gets muggy inside (lots of panting faces in the heat).  I have no idea why someone would say they were restrictive as you can open your windows as wide as they will go any time you want.  You never have to worry about them.  You do need to install two for the cross ventilation however.  So Richard, I would highly recommend them from having lots of experience with them.

Judy, Do you have any problems with gaskets from removing the stop pin and opening your windows wider than the stop pin limit?  Here's what the installation guide says:

On the inside of your motor home, open the sliding window that the Window/Maxx is mounted to on the outside. Depending on your window configuration, this should be approximately 4".The Window/Maxx stop pin is inserted at the bottom of your window track to prevent the window from opening further. Do not open the window any wider than the wiper gasket permits.
When installed, the stop pin should allow your window to open approximately 4". Drill a 5/32" hole for the stop pin at the proper location. Insert the stop pin.

Yes, we had two installed, one on each side window in the front living area in our '02 30TB. It was a way to provide ventilation while it was raining, along with the MaxxAire fan/vent cover that replaced the original bath fan. We weren't able to get a vent cover for the Fantastic Fan in the living area, as it was too close to one of our two solar panels to fit.
They worked very well. The only possible negative was that the Window-Maxx on the passenger side window prevented the side door from latching in the open position.  When we wanted to keep the side door open, we used a bungie cord around the door knob, hooking it into the catch on side of the LD.  Not elegant, but funtional. ;^)
I know most people really think the huge sliding windows on the LDs are one of their best features, but from a security standpoint, I'd much rather have insulated windows with the large section of fixed window glass above, with a crank-open awning window section below, as seen on some other Class Cs.  I think the Coachhouse Platinum and Dynamax use them.

Richard, I removed those stop pins as I didn't see any reason for them.  I have always been able to open my windows to whatever width I've wanted them.
I can stop them right at the end of the louvers or all the way open.  It has never mattered.  I do have a couple of different lengths of dowels that I put in the window well area.  One is sized for when I only want the window open to the end of the louvers and the other is sized slightly shorter.
With that in place, the windows cannot be opened from the outside as the dowels act as a stop.  It's great for security.
