Rubber bump guard?

There is a rubber (?) tubing sort of thing that is wrapped around the lower exterior, and sits in a "channel".

Most of it is cracked, brittle or not there anymore.
What is this called?  Where do you get it?  I assume it is sold in a standard width?  Is it applied with adhesive, or does it have an adhesive backing on it, or just squeezed into place? Thanks

Rubber bump guard?

I replaced all of mine recently. It just squeezes in place. I purchased it at a local RV shop.
You buy the molding trim by the foot and it is very reasonable.

Perhaps you mean the trim inserts like in the attached link to ones sold at Camping World. I replaced the dried up faded ones on our rig when we first bought it. See if this is what you mean.  Good luck!

"I... cannot figure out what 'Rubber bump guard' everyone is talking about here... Can someone give a better description of exactly where this is located on a LD?"
Your rig probably doesn't have one. Older LDs, such as my 1985 22' twin/king "Gertie," had trim strips along the lower sides of the coach. These consisted of a metal channel about 1/2" wide, into which was inserted a convex vinyl strip (see Camping World link in earlier messages on this topic). The plastic strips tended to harden and crack within a few years, so they needed to be replaced regularly. More recent LDs, such as my 2003 midbath "Skylark," don't have these "bumper strips."

Yes!!!  This is it.  I just looked at the site.  Now I know what it's called.  Thank you Marti and Ellen too - you're right - it's just about $6.00 for 25 ft. and it comes in my color too - brown.

Thanks.

BTW - I love Seattle.  We spent 3 summers working at an RV park in Fall City (near Belleview).

Thanks again.
