Bought a TB Kodiak yesterday

We went down to the mother ship yesterday and bought the Kodiak. We bought the third cut out that is still without the floor installed. I was so impressed with the little and big details that all I could do is sign on the dotted line. We went with the cloth Onyx for the cab seats and the couch. We went with the dinette in the same onyx design. The onyx design looks to be a Pablo Picasso design with geometric shapes weird but it works. The leather look alike is not our thing, the black cab seats are beautiful to look at but not functional for me to drive with. My wife reminded me that every car we owned with leather seats we end up covering. I drive in shorts and my legs sticking to the seats is not a good thing and the couch I kept slipping down when I was setting on it, when I sit down I like to stay in the same spot. The exterior in modern. The kodiak in classic just would not be right. In the parking lot they had several classics next to one of the finished Kodak's in modern and it just would not look right in brown my favorite LD color (red would be good but not my favorite color) so two tone silver it is. They are installing the floor next week and delivery should be by the end of the year. The only option that I went with was a plumbing cap on the roof over the drivers side that I can run a cell phone antenna out in the future. We did a test drive and wow the power, the Allison transmission shifting like silk the growl of the big block, not obnoxious but powerful in a way only a big block can sound. We did several u-turns on Mission where LD is located and the turn radius is fabulous the steering wheel kept turning unbelievable as good as my Tundra. The interior while driving was quiet more so than my RB. Steve says that the solid insulation soaks up the road noise and I believe it. The kitchen which my wife disliked in the RB due to lack of space and the tiny two piece sink is all better in the Kodiak, single sink and tons of counter space and the new stove its home quality with industrial burners. The cover over the sink is level with the counter and folds out of the way its not corian but its the same type of material. The fridge is really nice big with an external temp gauge. Storage, storage and more storage the only plan to fill it with is to buy a bigger grill. The only concern I have is the fiamma awning it is compact and flows with the exterior no legs handing down in my side mirror but it was demoed and seems to be wimpy, I dont use the awning very much if I do its on no wind days in the heat of the day other than that its up and we are enjoying the blue sky. We had a carefree on the RB and it was big bulky and leggy but built tough. Is the fiamma wimpy like it looks?

Congratulations, Craig and Lea! :-) Do you know whether the other two Kodiak LDs have been sold yet?

They have two left one TB on the show room and one Island bed that only needs carpeting. We were the first to buy.

Congratulations!  Really a shame the Mothership won't continue making these great coaches.

I think so but I have never owned a rig with anything else.  You just have to be smart when using it, not leaving it extended when away from the LD.  I have bought some additional supports and straps to use when parked for more than a few days so as to feel more confident in leaving the awning up during our absence.

Congratulations. Fiamma awnings are world class. I had one on a Chinook for many tears with no problemos.
