Honda RV Generator No Longner Made?

An Ebay seller says it is no longer manufactured.

Honda's website shows it but when you click to buy you cannot.

Looks like a futile effort! Harry

Try Wise Sales they normally have the cheapest prices and have free shipping.  You might want to look at and compare the Yamaha gensets too.

Can't imagine that Honda would quite making one of there biggest money makers.  Honda is very picky about who can sell their generators.  Could be Honda quite supplying gensets to this specific Ebay seller and they are making up excuse.

Also Honda only sells through dealers and not direct.  When on the Honda site you will need to click on the ESTORE which then takes you to that web site.
Any orders placed on their estore site comes from closet dealer to you and not direct from Honda.

Hi All,
Again, thanks for your help with the power cord issue.  :-)   Sealing the new end is the next thing to get done, will be visiting auto parts store on the way home from work.
Generator question:   It had run well until this past week.   Then it just quit after 2 hours (when it was really, really hot), and wouldn't start for a while - then it ran for about 20 minutes, and quit, would not restart.
Was running the a/c on it.

Started the next day, ran 15 minutes, and quit.

Replaced the air filter (dirty) and fuel filter (very dirty).
It ran for an hour last night, powering the a/c, and stopped again.  Trish said it sounded like it was out of fuel (gas tank is full).   We let it cool down during dinner, re-started it.   A few times it sounded like it was going toward the out-of-gas sound, but kept running.   I killed it at an hour and 15 minutes since we were done moving lumber around.
Any ideas on what might be causing it to quit?    I thought maybe a bit of clog (whatever that could be) was in the tube from the fuel pump to the filter, Trish thinks the pump may need to be replaced.  It seemed to run fine the last 40 minutes, with the a/c running.
Any ideas would be appreciated.   It runs smooth, so we don't think it is the spark plugs.

Cheers, Helen

Helen, when mine was going through several problems including an air leak in the fuel line, I changed the pump. Mike S. advised me on it due to the noise it was making. It was running but was making a clicking sound as it ran. (in the actual pump). Don't forget to have someone check your electrical parts on it that causes the ignition. Sometimes when they get hot they quit. Also the plug wire should be checked. There is a reason it is getting hot and that could be an issue also. Good luck, john leach, prescott, az.

Thanks, John .... but I didn't say the generator was getting hot - the weather has been overly hot the last week....

Will have someone check the electricals - does anyone have any recommendations in the Issaquah-Carnation area of WA state for this?

Cheers, Helen

I had something similar which had been going on intermittantly over an extended period, gen. ran okay most of the time but then without warning it would quit.
Trouble turned out to be a cracked 3" segment of the fuel line as it exits the tank. Had to partially lower the tank to replace it, along with the other 9' of line going to generator. Overkill yes, but lots of peace of mind to boot.

If you've made sure there are no fuel leaks I would consider changing out the voltage regulator or make sure that gets tested.  Mine had very similar issues.  Not sure the year of your rig but the Onan

Thanks, Jerry - mine is a 93.
Could you tell me where the voltage regulator is located?  A picture, maybe?

Thank you, Helen

Sorry, I don't know, the generator was taken out of mine by the tech and he has been working on it at his shop.  Perhaps looking on line for a manual or schematic.
