Not on my 2006 MB, but then I keep the rig waxed twice a year. I did notice the black paint coming off the "E-450," Ford emblems on both sides! But that is a Ford problem, not LD.
How old is your rig, and what part of the country are you in? One or both may be part of your problem.

04 MB...coach was first in southern california where problem started... coach is now in oregon where problem has gotten progressively worse...in oregon, coach is protected from the elements in a fenced area next to house...we have only used palmolive to wash...I've had several RVs and have never seen such a problem

Contact the factory, they have the decals there, or could assist, I'm sure.

The stripes are the first thing to fall apart on the exterior. Some decals, on our 2003 LD, are slightly peeling at the edges.
Twice a year waxing has not slowed the progression.
On the other hand, the paint is till in great condition
The paint on the front black 'fake' windows is fading and oxidizing. I cannot get it to look good anymore with wax and polishing compound.

--- I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only one who can't keep the fake "anti-bread truck look" black-painted rectangles looking anywhere near like the rest of the paint job! If anyone comes up with a solution other than re-painting the things, let's hear it!  Thanks!

The black 'window' paint does not appear to be the same polyurethane paint as the rest of the body. It looks more like enamel.
I will probably mask the 'windows' and use a high quality rattle can on it.
I have also kicked around painting them the lower body color, in our case, a light blue. Its available from the Mothership in spray cans.

Any other ideas? Larry

I haven't done this, but repainting ought to be straightforward, since these are just rectangles. Clean, mask and spray with gloss black Krylon--should be an easy afternoon job. :-)

Yep, Andy, that's exactly what I did a few years back.  Very easy to do, lightly sanded the old black, masked with tape and spray....  two things, though!!  One side has fine cracks throughout, (maybe re-painted before??) and now it's almost as bad as before.  Waxing did not help, and lots of oxidation has been going on.
Another thought I have toyed with is cutting the black vinyl (for vinyl graphics) to fit and carefully applying.  I think it would be do-able, but would be hard to not get bubbles.

PS:  I've also purchased the "stripes" tape from the factory (new, old stock) and in certain areas, it is not performing well, edges peeling, etc.  May have to re-do.  Granted, my rig is a little older, but the tape was applied a couple of years ago.

I've done signage on a friend's truck using black vinyl. The lifespan was only about two years; then the graphics began to shrink and curl at the edges due to heat absorption. There was also cracking in the central portions. With large black areas like those on our overcabs, I'd expect these effects to be even more pronounced. My gut feeling is that paint will probably last longer.

thanks to you Larry and others who have responded to my question about the EXTERIOR GOLD STRIPES disintegrating while leaving the white strips underneath still attached to coach...we thought we were the only ones with this problem because Steve said he's NEVER been told by anyone, other than me, that the stripes are not holding up and started deteriorating after only a few years of purchase...we found that hard to believe and wondered why just us...the paint job is still great...just think the choice of the gold pin stripes was a poor choice and it was inevitable that they would fail "outside" of warranty requiring time and money to keep them looking nice...to me the stripes have a design defect since you should be able to count on them staying put for years... if flimsy stripes are used, LD should stand behind them and replace with no extra charges... I recently sold my 92 winnebago and stripes were fine all those years...yes, we can get new ones but since ours came away from the white strips underneath, it's quite a job to remove the white strips which are stuck like glue to the coach and then once they are removed, you have to figure out where to put the replacement stripes...plus it sounds like the stripes LD is now selling are different from the ones on our 04 MB...oy vey...looks like we have no choice other than to make the 1,000 mile trip to LD and pay to have them take care of this...then in a few years, to pay again...with all the other high quality aspects of the coach, this is a letdown
