New, with questions about the 27 foot models
Yahoo Message Number: 103390
Hello, I am considering replacing our fifth-wheel with a 27-foot Lazy Daze motor home.

Two questions for now--lol.
The most appealing floorplan is the MB except it's not available with the entertainment center.  What are the advantages and disadvantages of the three 27 foot floorplans?
Sliding the couches into a bed sounds very uncomfortable.  I've never slept on a sleeper sofa that makes for easy sleeping.

Thanks.

We have a 26.5 rear bath and love it - very open and appears spacious.  Toilet and shower are separate and  shut off from the rest of rig when in use.  Big closet with 4 good sized drawers.  Ours has two captain chairs and a couch.
The overcab bed is a queen size and very comfortabable after adding a 3 inch foam topping cushion (from Costco).  The couch is also slept on (pulled out into a widder than twin) with a foam topping cushion, also very comfortable.

Hopefully this has helped in your quest.

Take a look in our website's Files area. In the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS folder you'll find a document called "What size and floorplan is best for me?" that will give you plenty of food for thought. :-)

We have a "99 Rear Bath, with the double sofas and use them all the time as a king sized bed.  We find it easy to make and put up in the morning. We don't have an entertainment center over the cab, so we store the bedding there. The bed is very comfy, with a pad and sheets and blankets. The sofas can be pulled out part way and used as twins and even leave room for the ladder for the overhead bed (if needed)
The rear bath is sometimes referred to as the "party coach" because of it's open floor plan. We really appreciate the roomy toilet, shower and closet in the bath area.

You've probably never seen a "sleeper sofa" quite like these.  They consist of a plywood base with a mattress and bolster.  When all pulled together, the bolsters lie flat parallel to the mattresses.  There's none of the metal framework that's associated with most sofabeds.

Hello, I am considering replacing our fifth-wheel with a 27-foot Lazy Daze motor home.

Hello Bluelucy52, Are you condidering new or used? If it's used, we have drastically lowered the price on our 2001 30ft Island Bed in pristine condition with only 26,500 miles & over $10,000 worth of factory & aftermarket add ons listed here under the files section under for sale.
We previously owned a Mid-Bath model and loved it as many people here do, including moderator Andy.
However now that we own a 30ft Island Bed, we enjoy it sooooo much better, partly due to the more confortable bed & entertainment center you mentioned in your post. The 30ft did suprise us also, in that it handles better than the MB, probably partly due to the Bilstine shocks on our current model. I won't bore all of the other readers here with all of the other reasons we happen to like about the 30ft. I could fill a page.
As you will find everybody has reasons they like one model over another. You have to concider what is more comfortable & usefull for your needs. Whether you are condidering new or used I'd be glad to discuss my many reasons if you would care to call anytime.(I have plenty of time while recovering from this blinged thriple bypass gig.
Thanks, Dan Hillman- Parker, C0.

I own a 2008 midbath.  I sleep on the couch all the time.  I found it comfortable the very first night, and before that I slept on a waterbed.
Physically, I am 6'2" and over 300 pounds.
Others have done things like adding a 2" foam pad over the couch bed area.  I haven't found that to be necessary.

The old 26'  that had the queen island bed had the entertainment center. LD stopped making that model some time ago. The 30' models have the entertainment center and either tw

"There's none of the metal framework that's associated with most sofabeds."
And perhaps even more important, the mattress is six inches thick--not the skimpy two inches that's typical of most convertible sofa beds.

Andy -- I actually found the FAQ before I posted.  After reading all the way through your instructions--almost always a good thing--I realized how to find the posts.  I kept looking for something *magical* to click--lol.
I'm slowly working my way through the messages.  Apparently there used to be a 27 with an IB.

Thanks!
