Nez Perce National Forest

Heading to ID this summer and was wondering about any boondocking opportunities in the Nez Perce National Forest.  I've looked on the Database but found nothing.  And I've been through the Nez Perce NF web site but thought maybe someone in the group would have some ideas.  Thanks.

The individual district ranger stations within any national forest are great sources of information; the site above offers links to the individual ranger stations for the listed campgrounds.  You might want to contact (and/or stop in; they like visitors!) one or more of them in your specific areas of interest in the Nez Perce.  The stations (usually) have knowledgeable and helpful people and plenty of free material about their area.  I am not certain of the exact meaning of boondocking, but if it means camp sites without amenities, you should find this to be the rule as opposed to the exception. More than half of the 2.2 million acres is designated as wilderness. My favorite is the North Fork of the Clearwater. Good Luck.

I haven't camped up there (NPNF) but depending on your trip schedule and route, don't forget to spend time in the SNRA (Sawtooth National Recreation Area).  Plenty of dispersed camping opportunities.  My favorite nearby location for a 2-4 day getaway.
