Second opinion worked!! May 14, 2009, 08:02:01 pm Yahoo Message Number: 102323Hi guys! Sometime ago I told you all about my generator (with only 47 hours on it) that wouldn't start. I had taken DD (Dog Daze) to the RV place I had gone to before (they're among the biggest in the northwest) for an oil change and had them look at the generator. Still out in the entry lane, one guy started it and another (their Onan "expert") immediately said it had a bad carburetor. After another hour and a half, they told me it could start but would need to have the generator pulled and a new carburetor put in for a cost of around $365 or so. Their hourly rate is $110. I didn't want to pay that price so went home. A friend told me about an RV guy up the road from me in a tiny village and small operation that seemed pretty good. I checked him out and he is a master RV tech that has also taught master tech classes at some college. He had all sorts of certs on his wall and I had him do a few things for me. BTW, his hourly rate is $75. Anyway, I'm rambling again. Sorry. I asked him about my generator and it started right up. Well, it didn't at home. So this morning I took DD up there again and it wouldn't start for him either. He said he thought it might be a fouled/bad spark plug. He said it was definitely not a bad carburetor by the way it sounded. So he took out the spark plug and it was black on the tip. He thought it could have been bad from the start. He popped in a new one and it is now purring. His charge...$45. So second opinions are good to get for our LDs too. And I now have a new RV guy.Judy Wms.Blue '07 RB "Dog Daze"And all the fur kids[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

He is on highway 95 near the town's intersection. The town's name is Athol in north Idaho and has a population of under 1,000 (maybe around 800 or so if the outlying area is included).
