Hello LD Folks.
Looking at doing a BC Ferry from Port Hardy to either Bella Coola or Prince Rupert and then driving back to Seattle.  Has anyone done either of these trips?  Road conditions of either? What about the "dirt packed" road aka "The Hill" Rout 20 from Bella Coola? Any suggestions or in sight greatly appreciated.

I doubt that I'd take my LD on this road, but, if I remember right, you have a van now....?

You are correct; I am in a Roadtrek these days and I did run across "Postcard" from Stephanie last evening after posting the question to this board.  I also ran across a travel log where a couple did this trip in a Roadtrek but had to stop a couple times on the way up to let it cool off.  Considering the condition of the road "The Hill" and the 18 percent grade, Jim and I have about decided to do the Prince Rupert rout where the road is better for the return trip with more services along the way and less of a challenge for the rig.  Hope I do not regret this decision - "better safe than sorry" comes into play but the Prince Rupert trip should be an adventure in itself.
