More Canada Questions May 07, 2009, 09:19:20 am Yahoo Message Number: 102185Many thanks to those who responded to my earlier post about travel in Canada.I have a few more questions, if anyone has the information. Is it necessary to make reservations for Banff and Jasper National Parks, or is there usually space available? We don't need hook-ups. Can you recommend RV parks or campgrounds outside of major Canadian cities, including Quebec and Montreal, that have transportation into the cities? (We don't have a toad.)Are Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg and Regina worth seeing? Thanks.Anne and David Sonner 2005 24 ft TK

We don't need hook-ups. Not certain when you are traveling, but our visit started mid-late September 2005, and we had no reservations and it was not crowded. Of course, it was chilly, and had 4" snow while in Banff (technically still summer). During the snowstorm, we had hookups at the public cg there.Steve

One of the first things you notice, after spectacular scenery, is that almost all the motor vehicles have an electric plug sticking out of the front grill. And most all the hotel and motel parking spaces have plug-ins for the engine sump heaters. It get's cold there, and starting a cold soaked engine is not a happy thing.bumper

Parking in downtown Banff is always dicey and a real challenge w/o a tow. We really loved that whole area and campgrounds were Aplus. There was a local high school prom at the big hotel one evening which added a charming note to the visit.
