ANY "SEWER SOLUTION" USERS OUT THERE?
Yahoo Message Number: 99786
Has anyone used a product called the "Sewer Solution" for dumping?  It purports to liquefy waste via a fresh water pressure-driven pump rather than a conventional electric macerator.  It appears to be particularly useful for people who have sewage clean-out valves for dumping at home.  Thanks--Ted

I had it on my last coach and it worked very well. It was a little slower due to a smaller diameter hose but did its job! All the best

Ted,

I use this exactly as you describe, for dumping into a cleanout, both at my parents' house and sometimes at home. It works very well.

I originally bought it to pump slightly uphill to the cleanout at our previous house. I'd say that's its biggest advantage. Also, it's a more compact way to carry a longer hose if you need to reach a distant dumping point. I carry it with me

I had one of the original Sewer Solution pumps about 10 years ago and it did work but it will not clean the residual sludge out of your black tank very well since it does not develop much pressure. It also uses a lot of water to dump the average tank.
There is also, in my mind, an issue with connecting your fresh water supply hose up to any thing associated with your sewer line. The device comes with a check valve but I carried a separate hose specifically for the SS.

I also had a problem with the plastic flanges that attach it to the dump outlet. After about 3 years one of them broke off. They replaced it but the replacement also broke after about a year. Hopefully they have fixed this by now.

I eventually gave mine away and purchased a 12 VDC macerator pump.

Reading the website, it looks to be wasteful of fresh water, adding some 50% by volume to waste water dumped. This is particularly bad when dumping into home septic systems that may be sensitive to volume of throughput.
The pump is incapable of pumping more than 3 feet above tank level. Pumping uphill uses even more fresh water and slows the emptying rate.
