E450 ground clearance

Hello to all, can someone measure or tell me the minimum ground clearance of their E450 LD? (Distance from level ground to bottom of differentials); I guess with the standard tires, normal inflation pressure, normal load.  Thanks, Terry Settergren

My LD is at hand, but it's cold, wet and dark out there.

However, as a substitute, the data I collected from the Ford Truck web site for 2001 E-450 Cutaway model has these figures:

Distance from the rear axle center line to the bottom edge of the differential housing: 6.5"

The static load radius of the mounted rear tire (i.e. the distance from the axle's center to the ground, taking into account the compression of the tire where it rests on the ground): 13.9"

Subtracting the two: 13.9" - 6.5" = 7.4"

The uncompressed tire diameter is given as 29.8" so the tire compresses about 1".

If this is critical, ask again and I will go measure the real thing tomorrow.  But recognize that the clearance will vary a bit based on exactly which tire is used, their pressure and the amount of load on the axle.

Ah, this seems right, but I couldn't derive it from the Ford documents.
I'm still trying to figure out why an F450 with 19.5 inch wheels has no more clearance than the E450. It almost seems as if the higher GVWR requires a larger differential which then causes the clearance to be no greater.

Our 23.5' LD, with a E450 chassis, measures 6.5" from the bottom of the differential. This is fully loaded, correct tires, proper air pressure, ready to roll.

My number from Ford's data appeared to be so far off that I went and measured.  My coach currently has a clearance of of 6.75".  It's currently a bit lighter than when we travel (full gas tank, empty black/gray tanks, little water, no personal goods) with Michelin XPS Rib tires inflated to 80 PSI.
