I have seen ads for 1995 and 1996 30' IB, are these good coaches? Is the chassis something to avoid? Looks like a standard IB with odd cab.

Opinions?

These were built on a Chevy P-30 chassis, similar to the one used on that vintage class-A m'homes, but with a class-C cab. It has a meager payload capacity compared to the later Ford chassis.

My dad has a mid 90's 30IB.  All I can do is compare his 30IB to our 22FL and tell you what he's told me about owning it.  I can say that his 454 runs very strong.  Also, the 30IB handles very well, especially for a 30 footer.  He is not a full timer and mostly uses it in the summer or camping trips with us (we have his only grand child).  Other than a leaky hydraulic jack, belts he's had to tighten, he has not had any issues or complaints about his 30IB.
There's a picture of his RV next our ours in the photo section titled Father and Son LD's.

We have '96 30 IB built on the '95 Chevy P/G 30 chassis. We bought it used with 40k miles on it, and it now has 129900 actual as I am writing as we are traveling . We have had NO issues above normal wear & tear.

Great news. We have a lead on a 1996 30IB. Sunday we look at a 1997 26.5 RB. So hard to decide.

Per my hubby who drives her between 55-60 mph & uses a vaccuum guage we average 9-10 mpg.. We also do not tow.
That's very good gas mileage.  My 82 tiny 22' LD Chevy - small, light - gets only 9 mpg at 45-55 mph.  Fuel injection and 4-speed transmission do make a big difference.
